The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on all aspects of people’s lives. 2.6 Billion across the world are now living under a changed lifestyle and some are still in lockdown situations across the World.

Looking at the impact, Birla TMT Steel adheres to the following measures for its stakeholders to keep everyone safe and healthy. Birla TMT Steel restarted the production of its products in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Health Ministry and Government.

 

  • Keeping the office, factory area clean and hygienic.

  • Placing sanitizing hand rub dispensers in prominent places around the workplace and also make sure these dispensers are regularly refilled

  • Ensuring that face masks and / or paper tissues are available at our workplaces, for everyone who develops a running nose or cough at work, along with the facility of closed bins for hygienically disposing them off.

  • Before any meeting or event, considering whether a face-to-face meeting or event is needed. Trying to replace the same by a teleconference or online event wherever possible.

  • Pre-ordering sufficient supplies and materials, including tissues and hand sanitizers for all the workers, staff in the factory. We also have surgical masks made available to offer to anyone and everyone who develops respiratory symptoms or finds it difficult to breathe.

  • A room has been identified where someone who is feeling unwell or has symptoms can safely isolate.

  • During the meeting or event, every participation is encouraged to cover their face with the bend of their elbow or a tissue if they cough or sneeze. Enough Supply of tissues and closed bins to dispose them.

  • The HR encourages regular hand-washing or use of an alcohol rub by all participants at the meeting or event

  • Making sure that If anyone develops even a mild cough or low-grade fever (i.e. a temperature of 37.3 C or more) they would be asked to stay at home and self-isolate.
